I call this my flash boom. It's a sub plus a pitch shifted snare that i created on my track "a flash of light by the shore" use it to create dynamics on a hit or whatever you want. Give a shout out to stark for machines and have fun! :). - chris.

This is a beat i made using the percussion presets form fab filter 1 cm synth for a track i was writing. Each hit was then loaded into abletons impulse drum sampler and tweaked for my pleasure. The snare was subject to some serious stretching,which gives it a rasping sound!fab filter 1 really is a simple but very useful synth.

I actually bought it for need of recording four channels of drums sound, but i was completely astonished by its great ability as a field recorder. Wonderful mic preamps, aren't they?.

Here's one from a series of 'clang' sounds, great for impact moments in trailers & commercials, or to layer up with other sounds. They are somewhat high-pitch, so they might mix well with low frequency drums and impact sounds. Recorded with tascam dr-40 built-in-mics, by hitting a railing with a pipe in a stairwell and adding a little bit more reverb in daw.

Created in waveform-10 using 1 instance of zynaddsubfx with 3 layers of hi pass filtered oscillators which were tweaked in detail to sound more like noise. Theres a little reverb, delay and distortion in there. The other oscillator was white noise created in 4osc ( native waveform-10 plugin ).

A sort of renaissancey version of the first two lines of ding dong merrily on high, composed on cubase with samples from the edirol orchestral plug in (a bit of harp, french horn, alto flute and violin with kettle drum and sleigh bell percussion). Samsara ekd was used for the kick, sent through eq and a couple of distortion plugins. Black noh snare was used for the snare, with a resonator and reverb placed on top of it, as well as eq and compression. Hcx was used for the hihats, with one eq plugin placed on it. The master channel got brickwalled (or bricked) using compressivecm vst.
